Auricular acupuncture, also known as ear acupuncture, is a specialized form of acupuncture that involves stimulating specific points on the ear. It is based on the idea that the ear is a microsystem, where different points on the ear correspond to various parts of the body, organs, and systems. By inserting needles or applying other forms of stimulation to these points, auricular acupuncture aims to restore balance and improve overall health.
Needling – fine needles are inserted into specific acupuncture points on the ear. The treatment typically lasts about 20 to 30 minutes.
Ear Seeds or Magnets: In some cases, small seeds (often from the Vaccaria plant) or magnets are taped to the ear points for prolonged stimulation. Patients can apply gentle pressure to these seeds or magnets at home to continue the treatment between visits.
